Trauma & EMDR Therapy in Dallas, TX
Space to slow down. Support to move forward.
Therapy That Feels Human
Therapy is a type of relationship between two people, and I don’t believe the therapeutic relationship needs to feel sterile or overly clinical to be effective.
You don’t have to show up with the right thing to talk about or worry about saying something the “wrong” way. There is room at Solace Space Counseling for difficult conversations, silence, humor, not knowing what you want to talk about, or whatever else comes along with being a person.
I’ll bring my training and experience to our sessions, but I’ll also bring myself. I am not a “blank slate” sort of therapist. I am expressive and show emotion so that you are comfortable with showing yours as well. I do this with the intention of building a therapeutic relationship with a foundation of authenticity, safety, and support.
Therapy at Solace Space Counseling
I’m Christina Gipson, LPC-Associate, NCC, supervised by Sandy Stillo, PhD, LPC-S. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and offer individual counseling for adults ages 18 and up in Dallas, TX and virtually throughout Texas. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through an EMDRIA-approved training provider.
My passion is working with clients to help them resolve traumatic experiences. Facing the past can feel daunting and lonely, but in therapy you don’t have to hold it alone. I am here to provide a safe space for you to slow down and support you to move forward.
Areas of Focus
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma-focused therapy that helps your brain process past experiences that feel stuck or unresolved. Instead of just talking about it, EMDR works with thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and physical sensations connected to an experience. The goal is to reduce how distressing the past feels, so it can begin to feel like the past instead of something your brain and body are still responding to in the present.
