Therapy doesn’t have to start with a diagnosis, crisis, or even knowing exactly why you’re here.
Maybe you’ve been considering therapy for a while, or maybe something recently made you realize you need some extra support. Whatever brings you in, individual therapy gives you a space that is all your own to slow down, get curious, feel the things you’ve been avoiding, and work toward whatever better looks like to you.
Individual Therapy in Dallas, TX
No two people come to therapy with the same experiences, needs, or goals, so therapy shouldn’t look exactly the same either. In fact, no two sessions are exactly alike. Some days you may come in with something you’ve been waiting all week to talk about. Others, you may not have a clue what you want to discuss.
Therapy with me is individualized to you and what you need on any given day. Come prepared if you like, but if you’re not so sure where to start or what to discuss, that’s fine too. Part of my job is understanding you well enough to know what you need and how I can support you in a way that actually helps.
I personalize each person’s therapy by integrating different modalities and evidence-based approaches. I draw mainly from relational therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic-informed principles, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
What does that even mean?
Relational therapy: Healing through human connection, and also healing for it.
ACT: Learning to make room for difficult thoughts and feelings while developing self-compassion and building a life aligned with what is important to you.
Somatic approaches: Tuning into your body’s cues to better understand and support your internal sense of safety.
